Button-Making

Read more about the 2021 daily art journal and each month’s theme here.

All I needed for September was my button maker, paper scraps, and a hole punch that creates a circle exactly the right size. The paper scraps couldn’t be much thicker than printer paper, but I still tried to find images in a variety of places. And there were plenty of days when I decided to stamp on, color, or add stickers to the scraps before turning them into pins.

The daily journal has gotten so fat that scanning the pages isn’t really an option anymore. Instead, here are photos of each day’s paper scrap choice with the finished (1 inch) pin sitting in the middle:

Most of the paper scraps came from old books, vintage wrapping paper, magazine ads, instruction booklets, collage paper, etc. The sun prints are mine and the heartbeat is my husband’s ♥
